Ballymun Job Centre Co-operative Society Ltd is currently recruiting for a Part time (24 hours per week) Enterprise and Facilities Assistant

The Ballymun Job Centre Co-op Society Ltd (BJC) and Innovate Communities CLG are working in partnership to manage and develop the Enterprise/Business Hub in the Ballymun Civic Centre and an Enterprise Centre in Ballymun.

We are seeking a proactive and organised Enterprise and Facilities Assistant to support the day-to-day operations, promotion, and development of both the Hub and the Enterprise Centre. The successful candidate will work closely with BJC and Innovate Communities staff to provide high-quality support to early-stage entrepreneurs and to ensure both facilities are well-managed and maintained.

This is a varied role that requires excellent communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships, and a commitment to delivering high standards of service in both enterprise support and facilities operations.

The Key Responsibilities include:

Enterprise Development and Support

  • Market and promote the Hub and the Enterprise Centre as a vibrant space that will encourage, and support start up enterprise and entrepreneurial approaches.
  • Support individuals and start-ups using the facilities by connecting them with relevant resources such as mentorship, funding opportunities, and networking events.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Organising and facilitating events, workshops, and training programmes to support the startup community.
  • Identify funding opportunities and assist in making applications for funding to develop the Hub and the Enterprise Centre
  • Support social media and online promotion of the centres as active, supportive spaces for new businesses.
  • Assist in identifying funding opportunities and assist in making applications for relevant funding both national and EU that would enable the maintenance and development of the Hub and the Enterprise Centre Facilities and Lease Holder Support
  • Assist with the general upkeep of the Hub and the Enterprise Centre ensuring buildings and grounds are clean, tidy, safe and well-maintained.
  • Support with addressing basic maintenance needs and repairs and liaise with external contractors when necessary.
  • Respond to tenant and leaseholder queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures and maintain accurate records in the Hub and the Enterprise Centre.
  • Assist with paperwork, record-keeping, and other administrative duties related to facilities management.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A good understanding of business principles, including finance, marketing, and operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, start-ups, funders and other stakeholders such as LEO and Enterprise Ireland.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Experience of assisting with the maintenance of facilities and supporting tenants.
  • A relevant third level qualification.

Terms of Employment – This is a part time (24 hours per week) position and is initially offered on a one-year fixed term contract. The role comes with a competitive employment package including a salary between €41,513 and €46,914 (pro rata) depending on experience. The BJC operates a pension scheme, training opportunities and working from home policies.
