Position Overview
Deputy Pádraig Rice is seeking to recruit a part-time Communications Assistant to support him in his constituency work in Cork South Central and his work as the Social Democrats Health Spokesperson. The Communications Assistant can be based in either Cork or Leinster House in Dublin. Occasional travel will be required.

Key tasks of the Communications Assistant
In this role you will:
- Help communicate Pádraig’s work to the public. This will involve:
- assisting with social media content
- producing newsletters
- drafting press releases
- updating the website
- video editing
- Help deal with correspondence (post, email, social media).
- Assist with the organisation of meetings and events.
- Provide ongoing communications and administrative support.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree or three years experience in a communications role.
- Strong IT skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in event organising.
- Experience in video editing (desirable).
- An ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines.
- Takes responsibility and is accountable for delivery of agreed objectives/projects.
- An interest in the political landscape and the broad policy platform of the Social Democrats.
