Our Pastoral Care Service is expanding and we have a number of exciting opportunities for qualified Healthcare Chaplains. The Pastoral Care department in Our Lady’s Hospice and Care Services operates on an interdenominational basis and is staffed accordingly. The department fosters interdenominational fellowship and cooperation recognising that the Hospice community is multicultural, multi faith and cares for people of all denominations and everyone regardless of faith affiliation and those who profess no faith. Today interdenominational ministry is carried out by professional chaplains, qualified in Theology and in Clinical Pastoral Education and accredited by the Healthcare Chaplaincy Board or Chaplaincy Accreditation Board.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic candidates with the relevant qualifications to join are team for the following position.

Lead Healthcare Chaplain

  • 1.0WTE (35 hours)
  • Indefinite duration contract
  • Board of Directors funded
  • Based in Harold’s Cross

Essential Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Primary Degree in Theology at a recognised institute
  • Three Units of Clinical Pastoral Education
  • Be certified as a Healthcare Chaplain by Healthcare Chaplaincy Board or Chaplaincy Accreditation Board or be eligible for such
  • certification
  • Management or Supervisory Training /Qualification Hold a full, clean driving license

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years full time (or an aggregate of 5 years full time) Healthcare Chaplaincy practice
  • Leadership, management and supervision experience
  • Possess the requisite clinical, technical and administrative capacity to fulfil the functions of the role.
  • Experience of working with medically frail people and delivering end of life pastoral care.
  • Broad experience of Multi-Disciplinary Team working.
  • IT Skills
