Social Farming Regional Coordinator

Social Farming is the practice of offering ordinary activity on family farms as a form of social support.

The post covers the region including Longford Westmeath Offaly Laois Kildare & Wicklow and the person would ideally be based in one of these counties.

We are looking for someone who is interested in the social model of support in Health and Social care, and who would like to make a difference in people's lives through our innovative programme.

The role would suit someone with experience in health & Social care, the farming sector and/or rural development, with plenty of energy and enthusiasm and an interest in making a difference!

You will be working with many stakeholders including farmers, participants, health and social care organisations and others.

Skills & Requirements: 

The following are considered essential to fulfil the role of Regional Coordinator:

• Third Level qualification and/or some project management experience in health & social care / rural and community development / social inclusion.
• A strong understanding of and commitment to inclusion and equality.
• Ability to work outside of normal office hours on occasions and travel across the region (South Midlands / East) frequently (travel expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty).
• Full clean driving licence with own transport.

Hours per week: 35 hours/week

Base: Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim (significant work across the South Midlands region & Remote work)
