Laois Domestic Abuse Service: Community Development Worker (Part Time)
Laois Domestic Abuse Service is an NGO and registered charity which provides advocacy, support, information, group programmes, court support and counselling services to women and children subjected to domestic abuse and coercive control in County Laois.
Laois Domestic Abuse Service is currently recruiting for the following position:
Community Development Worker
(Part-time 21 hours)
The aim of the role is to engage with local communities, agencies and groups in Laois, working with them to build confidence in recognising and responding to coercive control and domestic abuse in their community, while raising awareness of and promoting the services offered by Laois Domestic Abuse Service in the county, increasing referrals and supporting capacity in the community around the issue.
You will work within a supportive, trauma informed framework and have the opportunity to learn and develop in your role. The post holder will participate in the delivery of workshops, training, and community art projects which are focused on the issue of DVA.
