Recruitment Opportunity

Tacú Family Resource Centre is seeking Community Development / Family Support Worker(s) to join a new project supporting Traveller families in Ballinrobe.

This innovative initiative will work with Traveller children, young people, and families, focusing on:

• Education and school retention
• Conflict resolution and mediation
• Early intervention and family support
• Community integration and engagement

We are open to appointing one worker (30 hours) or two part-time workers, depending on skills and availability.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in family support, community development, or youth work
• Strong understanding of Traveller culture and the challenges faced by Traveller families
• Ability to build trust, work sensitively, and promote inclusion
• Excellent communication, mediation, and organisational skills

Desirable Experience:

• Working with schools, youth centres, or mediation services
• Knowledge of local services in Mayo
• Experience supporting diverse communities

Terms:

• Salary: Aligned with Tusla Family Support Worker Grade 15 scale – starting at €37,583
• pro rata (30 hrs/week: €30,473 gross).
• Contract: One-year fixed term
