Based in Limerick city, and covering the Mid West Region, Southill Outreach CLG is funded by The Irish Youth Justice Service through Young Persons Probation. We are currently recruiting for people to join our team who like a challenge, who accept that no two days are the same, and who are flexible and empathetic in their approach. If you’d like to work with hard to reach young people with complex needs, who are referred through The Irish Probation Service, then we have the career for you. We use activity based programmes to build strong relationships which enables us to challenge their offending behaviour and encourage pro-social attitudes and skills.

We are currently seeking applications for the post of Outreach Worker. This is a 35 hour per week full time post.

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Degree in Social Studies or equivalent, or Diploma in Youth and Community work or equivalent;
• A good knowledge and understanding of the issues facing young people.
• Experience of working with people with complex needs.
• Experience of identifying outcomes and helping clients work towards their goals.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• A working knowledge of Health and Safety and Child Protection Legislation.
• A full, clean driving license.
• Experience and knowledge of computer programmes and applications.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as being part of a team.
