CARI (Children at Risk in Ireland) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team in a part-time psychotherapist role. If you are driven to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families affected by child sexual abuse, we want to hear from you.
About CARI:
Founded in 1989, CARI is Ireland’s leading provider of professional, child-centred, trauma-informed therapy services. Our mission is to create a safe, healing environment for children and families impacted by child sexual abuse. We are committed to providing essential therapeutic care and support through a multidisciplinary, client-focused approach.
The Role:
As a 1-day-a-week Psychotherapist, you will provide therapy to children and adolescents who have experienced sexual abuse, along with therapeutic support for their parents or carers. You will work collaboratively within a skilled multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents impacted by sexual abuse
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to parents/carers
- Co-work with other professionals to provide holistic, child-centred care
- Report directly to the Therapy Team Leader
- Participate in regular individual and group supervision
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in providing psychotherapy to children, adults, and families
- A strong background in trauma-informed therapeutic approaches
- A primary or higher degree in a relevant field
- A recognised psychotherapy qualification and appropriate professional accreditation
- Knowledge of Children First Guidance and child protection protocols
- A collaborative, team-based approach to therapeutic work
