Community Connection Project Worker

Wexford Local Development is a community-based organisation working for Co. Wexford. We are one of 49 local development companies, operating nationwide, that implement community and local development programmes on behalf of the State.

Overall Purpose of the Community Connection Worker Role:

The central focus of WLD’s new Community Connection Project (CCP) is to develop ways to create dialogue and understanding about the reality of immigration in targeted communities in south Co. Wexford. Through informal education, dialogue, critical analysis and collaboration, CCP will test, examine and document different ways to strengthen community cohesion and build inclusive connections at a local level.

The Community Connection Project Worker (CCW) will use community development approaches to address common challenges in specific communities in the south of Co. Wexford, including challenges caused by misinformation/disinformation.

The CCP Worker will work on an outreach basis in close collaboration with WLD’s Community Development Team.

This is a full-time (35 hours per week), fixed term contract based in Wexford town.
