Café Manager: Cornmarket Project

About Us

Kafe Konnect is part of the Cornmarket Project, a community-based social enterprise providing training and employment opportunities for people overcoming challenges such as addiction, criminality, and homelessness. Our café (www.kafekonnect.ie) is a place where great food and coffee meet social impact.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cook/Manager to oversee the daily operations of Kafe Konnect. This is a hands-on role combining cooking, team management, and customer service. You will ensure high-quality food preparation, smooth service, and a welcoming atmosphere for customers, while supporting our trainees to develop the skills and confidence they need for future employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a range of menu items to agreed standards.
• Manage daily café operations including ordering, stock control, and scheduling.
• Maintain HACCP compliance and high standards of hygiene and food safety.
• Supervise, mentor, and support staff and trainees in a positive, inclusive environment.
• Work with the Services Manager to meet commercial and social enterprise goals.

• Proven cooking experience in a café, restaurant, or catering setting.
• Experience managing a small team.
• Organised, reliable, and able to work under pressure.
• A people-focused approach and commitment to the mission of the Cornmarket Project.
• Flexibility to adapt to the needs of a busy, evolving social enterprise.

Terms

Full-time position, 5 days a week Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm, salary dependent on experience.
