Part-Time Project Worker (22.5 hours)

Treo now wishes to recruit a part-time (22.5 hours) Project Worker for its operations in Waterford City.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be part of an experienced and dedicated multi-disciplinary team. The Project Worker will have a varied and dynamic workload.

The Project Worker will be expected to become proficient and develop expertise over time in a range of proven approaches i.e. Restorative Practice, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Approaches.

This will become a pensionable position after a probationary period. Treo Port Lairge is committed to providing staff with continuing professional development opportunities.

Professional Supervision will be provided.

Essential Requirements

Education & Experience

• Minimum Level 8 degree in Social Science, Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years post-qualification experience working with a similar client group.
• Previous experience in key working and building effective relationships.
• Programme facilitation experience.

• Knowledge & Understanding

• Strong knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and the factors that contribute to offending behaviour.

• Understanding of challenging behaviour and effective strategies to address it.

• Awareness of opportunities and barriers faced by individuals furthest from the labour market.

• Experience working with both offenders and victims of crime.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to bring about positive behavioural change.
• Proficient IT skills and strong administrative ability.
• Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.

Other Requirements

• Full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
