Invitation to Tender:
Assessing the Socio-Economic Value of Youth Work in Ireland

The National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) is seeking proposals from qualified researchers or organisations to undertake a landmark study assessing the socio-economic value of youth work in Ireland. Building on the foundation of NYCI’s 2012 report, this new research will provide a robust evidence base to inform policy, funding, and strategic development in the youth sector.

The study will explore both the economic impact—such as return on investment and cost savings to the State—and the broader social contributions of youth work, including wellbeing, inclusion, and civic engagement. It will align with national policy frameworks and focus on outcomes that matter most to young people.

With a maximum budget of €70,000 and a nine-month timeline, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future of youth work in Ireland.

The closing date for submissions is Friday, 19th September 2025.
