Childcare Services Operation / Administration Manager
Location: Tigh na nOg Community Creche, Letterfrack, Co. Galway
Position: Full-Time Manager – 39 hours per week - Monday-Friday
Tigh na nOg Community Creche, which is a service provided by Connemara West plc, is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Manager to lead our early years service. This is a key leadership role involving the day-to-day management of the creche, with a strong focus on delivering a high standard of care and education in line with Aistear and Siolta frameworks.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about early childhood development, has strong administrative capabilities, and can lead a team with professionalism and empathy. The Manager will be supported by a Management Committee which reports to the Board of Directors of Connemara West Plc.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised qualification in management or childcare, (though business, finance, or HR qualifications will also be considered).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Excellent leadership, communication, administration and organisational skills.
- Garda Vetting is required on appointment. Police Clearance may also be required if candidate has lived outside Ireland for a 6 month period or longer.
- Current Children First and First Aid training, or willingness to obtain certification upon appointment.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Aistear, Siolta, and Tusla regulations.
- Financial Management/administration experience
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management:
Oversee the daily running of the childcare service, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining smooth operational flow. - Child-Centred Environment:
Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children, promoting play-based learning in line with national frameworks. - Staff Leadership:
Lead, support, and supervise the team of early years educators. Conduct regular appraisals, facilitate training, and foster a positive work culture. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with Tusla regulations, and maintain accurate records in line with best practice and legal requirements. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and liaise with external agencies such as Pobal, the County Childcare Committee, Tusla and any other relevant agencies - Financial Oversight:
Manage the creche’s budget, monitor expenditure, and contribute to the financial sustainability of the service.
