Drug & Alcohol Family Support Worker
County Leitrim / South Donegal
Overall purpose of Job
To develop and provide evidence-based Drug & Alcohol supports to reduce the stress & health related problems experienced by families & children.
The role of the Drug & Alcohol Family Support Worker will be to provide a non-judgemental, confidential support service to people who have been adversely affected by a family member or friend’s drug or alcohol use.
Although this role is as a drug and alcohol family support worker it may include drug and alcohol assistive outreach duties from time to time to meet client needs.
Hours: 26 hrs. Per week (flexible - to include Evenings & Weekends)
Essential Criteria
- A degree or equivalent 3rd level qualification in a health and social care related area and 1-year recent experience of working within a mental health or social care setting
or - an application will be acceptable if the candidate can demonstrate 3 years recent experience working with/supporting clients, one of which must be within a mental health or social care setting
- Completed specific drug/alcohol training
