Alcohol Action Ireland

Alcohol Action Ireland was established in 2003 and is the national independent advocate for reducing alcohol harm.

We campaign for the burden of alcohol harm to be lifted from the individual, community and State, and have a strong track record in campaigning, advocacy, research and information provision.

Our work involves providing information on alcohol-related issues, creating awareness of alcohol-related harm and offering policy solutions with the potential to reduce that harm, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act.

Alcohol Forum Ireland

Based in the North West of Ireland and influencing across the island of Ireland Alcohol Forum Ireland is a not for profit organisation that operates in conjunction with the Health, Justice, Education, Community and Business sectors.

Alice Leahy Trust

Alice Leahy Trust is a non-political,non-denominational voluntary body set up in 1975 as a private charitable trust (Charity No.CHY7014) to provide medical and related services for people who are homeless.

We work in premises provided at a nominal rent by the Iveagh Trust. Up to 30 men and women call each morning, the majority of whom are sleeping out (age 18 to 85). We see new people daily and often have people calling who were housed - settled- and become homeless again.


ALISON - the Global Learning Experience - is a FREE learning resource of interactive certification-based learning. ALISON stands for Advance Learning Interactive Systems Online. The learning is provided free of charge to individual learners.

The mission of ALISON is to enable anyone, anywhere, to educate themselves for FREE. Through ALISON, the cost-barrier to learning can be removed.

Through the ALISON Learning platform we can assist people around the world in educating themselves, thereby creating a more equitable and sustainable global society.

All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) is a leading organisation with national and international influence driving excellence in palliative care. AIIHPC is a collaborative of hospices, health and social care organisations and universities on the island of Ireland. AIIHPC advances education, research, policy and practice to improve the palliative care experience of people with life limiting conditions and their families. Alliance for Animal Rights

Alliance for Animal Rights [AFAR] is a Dublin based Animal Rights group established since 1989.

We actively campaign on issues such as Fur Farming, Greyhound Racing,Veganism, Vivisection and Blood Sports.

We perceive Veganism as the moral baseline of the animal rights position.

We reject violence to all sentient beings.

We promote  activism in the form of direct action, vegan education and the exposure of animal violations and injustices

In other words  ‘we agitate, liberate and educate’

Allihies Copper Mine Museum

In the mid-nineties a group of Allihies residents came together to discuss how they might preserve and present the local copper mining heritage of this unique area. The idea of Allihies Copper Mine Museum (ACMM) was born and hard work and dedication on the part of the local community brought it to fruition. Attended by then-president Mary McAleese, the museum finally opened its doors in May, 2007.
