Baboró International Arts Festival for Children

A space for children to enjoy time together with their schools and families, as they explore all that the festival has to offer.

Extraordinary creative experiences from across the country and the world are brought to curious young minds every October.

Artist Development and Mentoring

Artists create the space for new experiences, expansion of understanding and play. We provide development opportunities and offer the support of our network and community as these artists bring their new work to life.

Values

We believe that each child is a full human being at every age and that it is their right to experience art and culture in all its forms.

One of the cornerstones of Baboró’s foundation is the right of each child to enjoy arts and culture, as stated in Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child which was ratified by Ireland without reservation in 1992. It reads, ‘The child has the right to rest and to engage in leisure, play and recreational activities and to participate in cultural and artistic activities.’ Hence, at the heart of Baboró’s ambitions is access to the arts for all children, regardless of geographic, economic, physical, intellectual or cultural status.

Playful Expression

Play for the fun of it - be mischievous, be chaotic and be yourself! We believe it is free expression that reveals who we are to ourselves and to each other.

Shared Experiences

We embrace the diversity of people, cultures, perspectives and emotions that makes each of us unique. We celebrate community and connection through our experience of the arts.

Curiosity

We encourage curiosity, being bold and seeking out new experiences and opportunities. We continue to learn and grow, sharing that learning with our community.
