Domestic Violence Response

The vision of Domestic Violence Response (DVR) is a society that understands and deals effectively with domestic abuse.

Domestic Violence Response (DVR) is a Galway City and County based service that provides information services, telephone and counselling support, advocacy support and accompaniment and educational programmes to women impacted by domestic abuse. DVR also provides a range of educational training and awareness programmes to organisations, third level colleges, community groups, secondary schools.

Our Mission

The mission of Domestic Violence Response (DVR) is to identify and respond to the needs of women and children in County Galway who are subjected to violence and abuse in the home and to develop long-term responses that work towards the elimination of domestic abuse.

Our Priorities

  1. To support women and children who are subjected to violence in the home
  2. To provide education, training and awareness work
  3. To contribute to national policy on domestic abuse
