Donegal Rape Crisis Centre

The Donegal Sexual Abuse & Rape Crisis Centre was established in Letterkenny in 1997

The Donegal Sexual Abuse & Rape Crisis Centre is a registered charity. We provide free counselling, support and advocacy for survivors of sexual violence of all genders and gender identities aged 12+ and their loved ones. We support survivors from across County Donegal and neighboring counties. We also provide SATU (Sexual Assault Treatment Unit) psychological support, Garda and Court accompaniment as well as education and training. The main office is in Letterkenny with outreach services provided in Donegal town, and Buncrana.

We also offer ‘Consent’ Training to Schools and other agencies, Trauma Training and Disclosure Training

The centre receives its core funding from TUSLA under Domestic, Sexual and Gender Based Violence funding which is supplemented by fundraising and donations. We are a member service of the RCNI- Rape Crisis Network of Ireland. Clients may self-refer or are referred from a variety of agencies including: GP’s, Addiction services, Gardaí, SATU, family, other counselling services, adult mental health services, CAMHS, SCAN or community mental health services.

Our Mission Statement Donegal Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre offers counselling support and advice to survivors of rape and sexual abuse through and accessible and confidential support service in a safe environment and through preventative programmes and actions, working in partnership to raise awareness across the wider community through educational programmes which seek to eliminate the incidence of rape and sexual abuse in society.

Our Vision Statement The vision of Donegal Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre is eliminating sexual violence in our society.
