Founded in 1972, the AWCD has been part of the Irish Community for over 45 years.  We have a large and diverse membership who share experiences, interests, and a commitment to be part of the community here in Ireland.

The AWCD is also a member of FAWCO, the Federation of American Women's Clubs Overseas which brings a wealth of resources and information for Americans abroad and their families. Youth exchanges and programs help to optimize networking abroad for children, and Target Programs and UN affiliated work broaden the reach and impact of member clubs worldwide.
