Cuan Mhuire

Cuan Mhuire provides a lived experience of Home, Family and Belonging. Cuan Mhuire is wholly inclusive, embracing especially those who feel marginalized and distressed. We are always attentive to providing the highest standards of excellence for those for whom we provide care and support. Cuan Mhuire seeks to help all to discover their giftedness and their infinite value.

We are open 24/7, 365 days a year. We have a distinctive 12 week (alcohol and gambling) and 20 week (substance misuse) treatment programmes. We also have the capacity to vary the length of stay to meet the specific needs of individual residents. Detoxification is provided on site. All faiths, traditions and cultures are welcomed and valued.

We provide training in life skills and personal development as well as educational programmes aimed at enhancing work skills. We provide a two year ‘Aftercare’ programme, which includes the families of our residents. Cuan Mhuire has pioneered major innovations in rehabilitative care. Cuan Mhuire has a strong cross-border dimension, reinforced by its campus in Newry, Northern Ireland, which is very much at the heart of the wider Cuan Mhuire Community.

Our Mission

To provide an environment in which people who feel rejected and dejected because of their addictions become aware of, and learn to deal with the underlying problems relating to these addictions and discover their uniqueness, goodness, giftedness and their real purpose in life.

Our Aims
