Probation and Linkage in Limerick Scheme ( PALLS Ltd )

PALLS training centre provides a safe, supportive and non judgemental space, working from the ethos of dignity, respect and equality.

The centre provides an 8 month long needs led programme that aims to empower and guide trainees to take control of all aspects of their life and to equip Trainees with the skills necessary to assist in obtaining either good quality sustainable employment or a return to education.

Aims

  • To develop and implement policies and procedures, based on the ethos of PALLS, that promote good practice, results based programme and ongoing quality reviews.
  • To promote social inclusion, and provide an environment free from any and all discrimination including but not limited to;  to gender, class, family status, marital status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, race, ethnicity and the travelling community.
  • To encourage and stimulate personal development in all trainees to allow them to grow in the areas of personal development, social skills and independent living.
  • To provide training that is needs led, lifeskills, in conjunction with practical and vocational skills and accredited educational programmes.

Objectives

  • To offer accredited courses, (FETAC/City & Guilds), trade skills, and external recognised courses  eg.  Safe Pass, Horticulture, First Aid, Driving Theory test, Sustainable Energy Technolgies  etc
  • To inform trainees about local and community based service providers and to enable access where possible to these services.
  • Develop with the trainee an Individual Action Plan, with clear aims and goals and continuously review.
  • To provide programmes encouraging personal responsibility, Active Citizenship and Civil Rights, local community activism, interpersonal and social skills, and positive life choices.
  • To build and sustain strong relationships between PALLS and local, regional employers, entrepreneurs and educational institutions.
