FLAC (Free Legal Advice Centres) is an independent Irish human rights and equality organisation, which exists to promote equal access to justice.

FLAC provides basic legal information on its Telephone Information and Referral Line on 01 - 906 10 10. It also provides basic legal advice through Phone Legal Advice Clinics for those who are unable to afford advice from a lawyer in private practice. For more info visit www.flac.ie/help

As an Independent Law Centre, FLAC takes on a number of cases in the public interest each year. These cases are taken on with the aim of benefiting a wider community as well as being important for the individual client.

In terms of research and campaigning, FLAC currently concentrates its work on three main areas:

• Civil Legal Aid,
• Social Welfare and
• Credit & Debt.
