The Blue Box CLC offers a Creative Therapy Service to schools, school completion programmes, outreach projects and preschools in Limerick City.

It is a community-oriented intervention service that ideals with emotional, behavioural and mental health issues in young people, their families, and the community. These issues are related to environmental and domestic trauma and toxic stress due to loss, abuse, violence and crime.

The Blue Box works on-site in schools, preschools and in other centres in Limerick City. We receive referrals from social work, principals, HSE and families.

One of the main criteria that the Blue Box uses before partnering with a school is the level of marginalisation in the community where the school is based.

A qualified, certified Arts Therapist creates a safe, private and confidential space for an hour to a child who needs support in a difficult time.

Art, play, music, and dance therapies are used to provide an intuitive, non-verbal means of expression for the child.
