Counsellor/Psychotherapist (Gambling)

Overall Purpose of the Role:

North West Clare Family Resource Centre is currently seeking a Counsellor/Psychotherapist to work with and support people who have a gambling addiction, those who are struggling with harmful gambling and others who are affected by their gambling.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Counselling & Psychotherapy from an IACP/IAHIP/FT accredited body.
• Be in their own supervision.
• Ability to make decisions.
• Organisational, planning and prioritising skills.
• Efficient time management skills.
• Group work and facilitation skills.
• Report and note writing.
• Maintaining confidentiality and boundaries.
• Respectful, patient and good listening skills, ability to value other people’s perspectives.
• Honest and trustworthy.
• ICT skills.
• A commitment to completing specific training (eg Certificate in Gambling Addiction), which will be funded and within the role.

Desirable:

• Relevant Masters.
• A good understanding of addiction.
• Minimum 3 years of experience post qualification dealing with a wide range of issues.

About the Psychotherapist/Counsellor Role

• Location: Ennistymon, County Clare
• Part-time: 17.5 hours per week
• Salary: €45,360 (Pro-rata)
• Annual Leave: 20 days + 5 company days (Pro-rata)
