PACE is a voluntary sector organisation that works in the community with people with criminal convictions. PACE provides a wide range of services to support the safe integration of this client group into the community.
PACE works from a strengths-based approach to address the treatment and support needs of the target group to support them to develop a pro-social identity based around their non-offending behaviour.
About the Program
The Anchor Project is a dedicated initiative by PACE, funded by Probation Services, created to provide highly tailored support for complex, high-risk clients. Recognizing that each person’s journey is unique, the program offers personalized interventions that address specific needs, challenges, and risks. Through a combination of practical assistance, intensive case management, and collaborative accountability delivered in partnership with Probation, the Anchor Project empowers participants to build resilience, stability, and sustainable positive change. Our approach emphasises respect, dignity, and client-centred care to effectively reduce reoffending and promote long-term reintegration.
The Anchor Project will operate over 7 days a week, through scheduled shifts and will operate an on-call, out of hours for emergencies. The service will operate with the flexibility to meet the needs of Individual referrals.

About the Roles
PACE is seeking experienced and dedicated Social Care Workers to support an innovative new project working with individuals presenting complex needs and challenging behaviours. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful initiative, supporting individuals with a history of Mental Health issues, Autism, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), and Dual Diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day person-centred care and support to service users with complex needs.
- Develop and maintain professional care plans tailored to individual clients.
- Write clear, concise, and accurate reports and document as per PACE procedures.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, professionals, and stakeholders.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment that promotes independence and dignity.
- Adhere to organisational policies and Probation-funded project guidelines.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a closely related field.
- Demonstrable experience working with complex clients, including those with mental health needs, autism, ABI, and dual diagnosis.
- Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively and compassionately.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Strong report-writing and documentation skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of service users.
- Full Drivers Licence & Aaccess to own car
Desirable:
- Experience working in a Probation-funded or Justice-involved care settings.
- Additional training in trauma-informed care, de-escalation or behavioural support.
