EAST WALL YOUTH provides a range of activities, supports and services for young people aged 10 – 24 in the East Wall / North Port area of Dublin. We aim to equip young people to play an active part in the community and in society by encouraging and actively supporting their social, educational, vocational and personal development. We believe our young people have much to offer and we work to help them reach their full potential during all stages of their growth.
Project Leader
St Mary’s Youth Service / East Wall Youth are seeking to employ a Project Leader for our UBU ‘Your Space Your Place’ youth service funded by DECDIY.
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of activities that aim to positively impact the lives of young people. These activities should enhance the personal and social development of young people.
Responsibilities
- Planning and organizing activities
- Working in partnership with relevant community and statutory agencies to deliver excellent services to the young people.
- Facilitating the recruitment, support and training of both youth workers and volunteers.
Individual
Essential qualifications:- An NSETS recognised endorsed qualification in youth work or youth community work is essential.
Plus 5 years full time experience of working with youth people at risk in a youth work setting of which 3 years should be in a management role. The job requires flexible hours including evening and weekend work and occasional residential work.
- Excellent communications skills required.
- Ability to empathise and empower.
- Strong leadership, facilitation and planning skills.
- A commitment to working through a community development process.
