About Youth Work Ireland North Connaught (YWINC)
YWINC is an independent, non-profit voluntary youth organisation engaged in out of school youth development and education. The organisation aims to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development. YWINC employs over 40 staff and involves volunteers in the creation and delivery of high-quality services to young people through the operation of over 10 clubs, general youth services and special projects.
Youth Work Ireland North Connaught is now inviting applications for the following exciting roles in our:
1. Youth Diversion Project in Sligo/Leitrim
2. Leitrim UBU Youth Project and
3. Leitrim Comhairle na nÓg.
These positions are funded by the Department of Justice through the Irish Youth Justice Service and the Department of Children, Disability and Equality.
Current Vacancies:
1. Youth Justice Worker x 2 (Sligo/Leitrim Youth Diversion Project)
Working proactively with young people aged 12–17 to prevent offending behaviour through positive engagement, personal development, and targeted youth work programmes.
2. Youth Development Officer – Leitrim UBU Youth Project
Supporting young people’s personal and social development, helping them reach their full potential. Equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for positive integration in society.
3. Part-time Co-ordinator - Leitrim Comhairle na nÓg (14 hours per week)
Facilitating the personal and social development of participants to realise their potential, presenting opportunities for young people to undertake actions corresponding to their own aspirations and to assume responsibilities within their local communities.
Key Requirements (All Roles):
- A recognised qualification (minimum Level 7) in Youth Work, Social Care, Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1–2 years relevant experience in youth justice, or youth work settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to engage with young people and their families.
- Full clean driving licence and access to a car essential.
- Garda Vetting required.
