Project Coordinator
The School Completion Programme serving Dublin 5, 13 & 17 invites applications for the position of Project Coordinator.
The School Completion Programme supports children and young people both in and out of school to remain in Education. Its aim is to improve school attendance, participation and retention.
The Position
The coordinator will work alongside the Local Management Committee to provide support to children and young people in school, after school and during school holidays.
Essential Skills
- A third level qualification (minimum Level 8 on the NFQ) in a relevant discipline (i.e. psychology, education, counselling, psychotherapy, youth work). Training in therapeutic or health allied practices (i.e. cognitive behavioural therapy, mental health promotion, art or play therapy etc) will be an advantage.
- A minimum of 3 years management experience or 5 years relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience of planning, implementing and reviewing intervention programmes.
- Experience of working with young people within a supportive environment.
- Experience in budget management and resource [planning.
- Understanding of Children's First guidelines.
- A good understanding of the Irish education system.
Duties
- Coordination & implementation of the School Completion Programme strategic plan in conjunction with the Local Management Committee.
- Manage, motivate and lead the SCP staff and promote effective teamwork.
- Identify and respond to the educational welfare needs of the targeted children and young people in participating schools.
- Organise & facilitate the provision of in-school, out-of-school & holiday supports for targeted young people.
- Designated Liaison Person and responsible for all safeguarding & child protection matters.
- Foster strong relationships and work collaboratively with School Principals, School Support Teams, Home School Liaison Coordinators, Education Welfare Officers & other professionals.
- Monitor & evaluate the service quality of the programme and identify areas to improve effectiveness.
- Oversee the day-to-day expenditure of the programme and keep accurate records of payments/receipts & work within budget constraints.
- Report to the Local Management Committee as required.
- Cooperate with Tusla requirements in relation to compliance & audit of the programme.
