In Sync Youth & Family Services seeks to recruit an ambitious, empathetic and innovative Director of Services (Youth Work Services) to join our Senior Management Team in building on our success thus far, and leading the organisation towards achievement of our strategic objectives.

In Sync is a dynamic, creative, and value-led organisation that provides youth work and therapeutic services to young people, children and families across Kildare and West Wicklow, and advocates and collaborates for improved access to services and better outcomes for those we work with.

The Director of Services (Youth Work Services) will be a core member of the Senior Management Team reporting directly to the CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic development of Youth Work services, working closely with the two Youth Work Coordinators to ensure high quality practice and the achievement of annual strategic objectives. They will also have lead responsibility for co-ordinating organisation policy development and review including HR, Performance Management, Governance, Health & Safety, and Data Protection.

The successful candidate must highlight in their application form that they possess:

  • A recognised third level qualification in Youth Work; Community Work or other related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a leadership role in youth, child, and/or family services, in an organisation of similar complexity and scale as In Sync.
  • Significant experience of organisational development; policy development and review; strategic planning;
  • An in depth knowledge of Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017 and the Children First Act 2015,
  • Significant experience of support & supervision of senior staff and of leading multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate at interview their:

  • Clear understanding of the lived experience of young people today and profound commitment to youth work values and approaches.
  • Strong communication skills as someone who can develop positive relationships with a wide range of internal and external colleagues from a variety of professional backgrounds.
  • Ability to write comprehensive work plans, progress reports, funding applications and policy documents.
  • Ability to organise a complex and varied workload and to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to represent In Sync professionally and build positive partnerships with a range of external agencies and stakeholders.
  • Capacity to maintain a positive working culture that is consistent with the values of the organisation.

The successful candidate will be employed by In SyncYouth & Family Services on an initial 12 month fixed-term contract, renewable subject to funding, including a 6 month probationary period. Closing date for applications is 1pm on Friday 4th July, 2025.
