Future Foundations: Social Care Worker

Social Care Worker
Residential Service for Separated Children Seeking International Protection

Location: Cootehall, Roscommon – 10 minutes from Carrick on Shannon
Full-Time | Permanent (Shift Work incl. Nights, Weekends, and Sleepovers)

About the Service

We provide a high-quality, trauma-informed residential care service for separated children seeking international protection (SCIP) — young people under 18 who have arrived in Ireland alone, without a parent or guardian. These children often carry the complex effects of displacement, trauma, loss, and cultural dislocation.

Our service provides not only safe accommodation but also a structured and nurturing environment that supports each child’s rights, identity, recovery, and integration into Irish society. The service is regulated by HIQA and guided by international best practice in child protection and migrant support.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting Social Care Workers to join our dedicated residential care team. This is a deeply rewarding and vital role that involves providing day-to-day care, cultural and emotional support, and advocacy for children navigating the Irish care and asylum systems.

You will play a central role in supporting young people from diverse cultural backgrounds, many of whom may have experienced war, trafficking, forced migration, or separation from family. Your work will promote emotional wellbeing, integration, education, and long-term stability for each young person.
