Start date: 5th August 2025

Contract duration: 5 months (5th August 2025 - 31st December 2025)

Hours of Work: Full-time, 39 hours per week

Remuneration: €15,912

Probationary Period: 6 months

Benefits: 25 days annual leave (exclusive of public holidays), financial support for further education, two days positive mental health leave annually, and access to the four-day working week programme.

About the role

spunout is seeking to appoint a full-time Content Producer in the area of Climate Justice as part of the spunout Digital Content Team. spunout has been the beneficiary of the Youth Climate Justice Fund administered by the Youth Affairs Unit of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth. This fund supports Youth Climate Justice Education, Awareness, and Outreach.

With a particular concentration on curating video content on climate justice and a just transition, the Climate Justice Content Producer will lead the creation of a digital awareness campaign. Content creation will include creating video content based on our existing climate factsheets alongside the curation of youth voice pieces on climate justice and a just transition.

The campaign will feature content for platforms including TikTok and Instagram as well as a collaboration piece with a content creator on the topic of a just transition.

The focus of the role is to lead the curation of existing Climate content into multimedia content which aligns with organisational goals. This includes identifying which Climate content is currently performing best on-site and utilising learnings to continue to build on our existing Climate Action Hub’s collective impact.

About the Climate Project

Building on spunout’s existing Climate Action Hub will ensure that information on climate justice and a just transition will become more accessible for young people in Ireland. The project aims to increase awareness among young people of a ‘just transition’ and climate justice issues.

Peer-led content will amplify the voices of young people working toward just transition in Ireland, in particular sharing experiences of young people from communities directly impacted by climate change at home and abroad.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The Content Producer duties and responsibilities include:

Content Development

  • Create, edit, and publish engaging content across our social media
  • Ensure all content in your subject-areas are in line with spunout’s content policies, guidelines and values and is optimised for SEO
  • Centre the voices and information needs of young people across your content area
  • Liaise with subject matter experts to validate and ensure all content is of the highest quality

Content Management & Maintenance

  • Conduct section-specific content audits including identifying and archiving outdated content
  • See to future content gap analysis, retrospective SEO changes, retrospective validation, re-validating older content, and cyclical updating of time-specific content
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate and updated signposts within your content area
  • Manage internal link functionality and optimisation

Content Curation

  • Curate content, identify relevant thought leadership and create compelling digital promotion messaging in your subject-area
  • Collaborate with spunout’s Digital Marketing Team to distil information into short, engaging, and eye-catching copy and visuals for social media
  • Proactively seek and action user and stakeholder feedback such as youth panel consultations, focus groups, national surveys, and our Annual Reader’s Survey
  • Work with Content & Digital Marketing Teams to integrate workflows and to unite in approach

Additional responsibilities

  • Measure and monitor the success of content production and promotion in your area
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate stakeholders as needed, escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans
  • Manage all projects as designated by the Voices Editor

Skills and Attributes - Who am I?

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant third-level qualification in journalism, climate change, public health, or related field
  • At least two years of content production experience and project management
  • Work, voluntary experience and/or other demonstrated interest in climate issues
  • Work experience researching, creating compelling written content, and knowledge of SEO and analytics
  • Experience in multimedia content creation - TikTok is a plus
  • An understanding and interest in climate justice and youth culture in Ireland
  • Familiarity with digital marketing
