Creative Child Therapist (4 days) 6 month Maternity Cover Contract

In Sync Youth & Family Services is a dynamic voluntary organisation dedicated to working with children, young people and their families in their local communities. We are committed to their personal and social development within their communities and the provision of quality youth & family services through an integrated multi-disciplinary approach in Kildare and West Wicklow.

The Naas Child and Family Project is funded by TUSLA. This post is to deliver creative therapies to children of primary school age who reside in the north of Co. Kildare. The therapist will work as part of the NCFP multi-disciplinary team. The interventions and supports provided by the child therapist will be play based, fun, and designed to engage young children. The therapies provided will depend on the presenting issues of the individual child and that child’s capacity to engage in a meaningful manner to ensure the best outcomes for their wellbeing.

Your application should clearly demonstrate that you have:

• a background and training in Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy or other creative child therapies.
• a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with primary school aged children in a therapeutic setting.
• experience of developing positive working relationships with children, their families and communities.
• Suitably qualified applicants must be eligible for registration with IACP, PSI, IPTA, PTIRL or equivalent accreditation bodies.

The successful candidate will be employed by In Sync Youth & Family Services on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
