Position: CHILDCARE MANAGER

Location: Newpark Close Family Resource Centre

Job Description:

The Childcare Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the childcare room, ensuring high standards of care, education, safety, and hygiene are maintained. This position involves leading and supporting a team of early years educators to deliver a child-centred, play-based curriculum in line with Aistear and Síolta frameworks. The Manager will be responsible for the regulatory compliance with Tusla, and promote a positive, inclusive environment for children, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, and mentor the team of early years educators
  • Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations, Health & Safety, and all relevant legislation
  • Maintain strong partnerships with parents and families
  • Oversee curriculum implementation in line with Aistear & Siolta
  • Manage rosters, staffing, and recruitment as needed
  • Handle administrative duties including enrolments, invoicing, and reporting
  • Support children’s individual needs and foster their social, emotional, and educational development
  • Be fully responsible for the running of the school age and afterschool programmes
  • Report to the Director of Services and the Board of Directors.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 7 qualification in Early Childhood Education (Level 8 preferred)
  • A Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience in an early years and school age setting
  • Strong knowledge of Aistear, Siolta, and Tusla regulations
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the Hive and keeping it updated
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Garda vetting and up-to-date Children First and First Aid training

  • Strong understanding of Aistear, Síolta, and child development principles
  • Leadership ability with effective team coordination and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
