NAAS CHILD & FAMILY PROJECT 

In Sync Youth and Family Services provides therapeutic and youth work services to young people and families in Kildare and West Wicklow, and advocates and collaborates for improved access to services and better outcomes for young people, children and families.

The Naas Child and Family Project is part of In Sync Youth & Family Services and is funded by TUSLA. The project (NCFP) recognises that vulnerable, at-risk children and families should be supported within their own community. The project provides intensive, therapeutic support to local families within an integrated multi-disciplinary approach.

The post holders will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with responsibility for supporting vulnerable children and families. The roles include completing comprehensive needs assessments with families, and providing interventions and supports for families. Developing relationships with families and supporting families through their challenges is key to these roles.

To be shortlisted for interview a candidate must demonstrate that they have:

  • A recognised third level qualification in one of the following:
    • Social care
    • Social Work
    • Psychology
    • Or other related discipline
  • A minimum of three years post qualification experience of working with parents, children and families in a paid capacity.
  • Knowledge of family systems and experience of family assessment work
  • Experience of planning and implementing interventions/supports in partnership with parents and children
  • Significant experience of brief intervention work
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team

The successful candidate will be employed by In Sync for a 12 month fixed-term contract, including a 6 month probationary period.
