Monaghan Integrated Development: Community Health Intercultural Worker (Part Time, Maternity Cover)
Maternity cover applications are invited for the position of:
COMMUNITY HEALTH INTERCULTURAL WORKER
(Part time Specific Purpose Contract – Maternity cover)
This position involves delivery of health supports through our Health & Wellbeing hub to IPAS clients and New Arrivals throughout County Monaghan. The successful candidate will be responsible for signposting and supporting IPAS clients and New Arrivals clients to navigate the health service, including medical card applications, child immunisation, etc. They will identify the health and other needs of these clients resulting in necessary referrals to relevant supports available.
They will also refer complex medical cases to HSE social Inclusion staff and work with the HSE social Inclusion staff to enable these people to access appropriate health supports.
The Role will include:
- Holding outreach health clinics with and on behalf of the HSE Intercultural Health Lead in accommodation settings on a regular basis
- Assisting IPAS clients and New Arrivals with various aspects of Medical Card application
- Advising clients how to access health services, secure appointments and understand their entitlements to relevant services
- Providing support to HSE as required to enable them to carry out Health Needs Assessments in each relevant location
- Identifying / following up on new locations/centres and ensuring all locations have adequate PPE
The successful candidate should:
- Have a relevant third level qualification and/or work experience
- Have experience of designing, facilitating and planning events.
- Be self-motivated and possess the ability to motivate others
- Possess excellent report writing, organisational, inter-personal and language skills
- Have access to car and full clean driving licence
The position is based in County Monaghan with Monaghan Integrated Development CLG.
