Teach Tearmainn looking for a dynamic and experienced Refuge and Helpline Team Leader to lead the day-to-day operations of our refuge accommodation and confidential helpline—essential lifelines for women and children escaping domestic abuse.
Based in Kildare Town, with some respobnsibility and oversight of additional dispersed units in Naas, this is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact in a values-driven, trauma-informed organisation. You’ll ensure safe, empowering, and high-quality support is delivered to women and children in crisis—while leading and nurturing a team of dedicated staff and volunteers.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coordinate, and continuously improve our 24/7 refuge and helpline services
- Support and supervise a team of frontline workers and volunteers
- Ensure client safety, well-being, and dignity across all service areas
- Oversee property management and health & safety compliance
- Collaborate with the Head of Services/ CEO, and partner agencies to drive best practice and innovation
What You Bring
- Experience managing domestic abuse, housing, or social care services
- Strong people management and crisis intervention skills
- In-depth understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children
- A calm, compassionate approach under pressure and a commitment to trauma-informed care
- Strong people management experience
- A full driving licence and access to transport
