RECRUITMENT OF TEMPORARY TÚS SUPERVISOR
Longford Community Resources is a community-based local development company which currently administers a number of programmes in County Longford. The Tús - community work placement initiative provides short-term quality and suitable working opportunities for people who are unemployed while at the same time carrying out a broad range of services of benefit to the community and in a variety of community settings. The Company now wishes to recruit a Temporary Supervisor for the Tús - community work placement initiative.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Tús Initiative in Co. Longford, in order to provide quality work placements for unemployed individuals within the community and voluntary sector. A 6-month fixed term contract is offered.
The role will involve:
- working within the staff team to develop and implement the Tús Initiative
- identification of quality work placements in community organisations and settings
- supervision of participants
- preparing written reports on the initiative for Longford Community Resources and funders
- attend meetings relating to the Tús initiative both locally and nationally
- setting, managing and monitoring work schedules and attaining targets
Person Specification /Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate should have:
- relevant third level qualification;
- experience of working in a management/supervisory/human resources capacity with a company or community organisation;
- good knowledge and understanding of issues specifically affecting the unemployed and those socially excluded;
- excellent organisational, communication, IT and interpersonal skills;
- good ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
- full clean driver’s license and access to own transport.
