Traveller Families Care Clg is a voluntary organisation who is in partnership with Tusla Fostering Department with regards the recruitment of Traveller and Roma Foster Carers in line with the National Traveller and Roma Inclusion Strategy.

We currently have a vacancy for the post of:

Project Worker for the remainder of 2025 
(31st December 2025):

The focus of the role will be to proactively engage with members/organisations of the Traveller and Roma Community to create awareness around foster care while also providing ongoing supports to the individual or joint foster care applications.

The main areas of work will be to:

• Engage with members of the Traveller and Rona community and to build a trusting relationship
• Provide information and support to Foster Care applicants on an ongoing basis alongside the fostering social workers.
• Deliver information sessions surrounding foster care to either groups or individuals/couples.
• Liaise/network with key stakeholders from the Traveller and Roma community
• Identity any gaps and blocks to Travellers and Roma regarding their journey through a fostering assessment.
• Any other work deemed necessary as designated by the coordinator of the project

The ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to work on their own initiative
• To work closely with the project coordinator in the best interest of the Traveller and Roma Community
• A full clean driver’s licence and access to own car
• Garda Vetting is a requirement of this post
