Invitation to Provide Educational and Personal Development Course with NTDC Ascend Domestic Abuse Service

Background

Mission Statement:

NTDC Ascend Domestic Abuse Service is committed to ensuring that every woman will live a life free from abuse in all its forms and reclaim the power to fulfil her potential.

Primary Purpose:

Ascend work to ensure that all women have support and information around the dynamics of domestic abuse available to them when they require it so they can make informed choices.

Project Aim: We work tirelessly to provide a confidential, trauma informed service for all women and children who have or are experiencing Domestic Abuse. We do this by working collaboratively and collectively with Clients, their families, the communities that we work within and external services to educate around the acknowledgement and unacceptability of Domestic Abuse in all its forms and the effects of it on women and children. We place the safety of women and children at the centre of our work and continue to advocate on their behalf where and when it is appropriate to do so.

Project Goals: To provide a range of services to meet the demands of the project, our clients, the communities we serve and to do this through a well-informed, supported team who are experts in the field of Domestic Abuse.

As included in our 2025 Annual Plan Goal 2: Advocacy and Awareness Raising Ascend hope to Provide access to educational opportunities for clients, local groups, the general public and professionals to inform them of the issues surrounding and connected to Domestic Abuse.

We are now looking for a provider to work with Ascend to provide facilitation to targeted groups for the programmes of Own my Life and Healthy Relationships/DAY Programme.

Key Considerations

  • Training complete in listed programmes above or willingness to complete training of same
  • Experienced facilitator for groups of differing ages, settings, numbers and dynamics
  • Understanding and knowledge around the area of Domestic Abuse and all its forms
  • Available to work across all areas of North Tipperary
  • Available to do school groups during school hours
  • Available to meet client groups out of office hours i.e. evenings
  • The target is complete 3 school groups, 2 client groups and 4 professional groups within the time frame
  • Trainings can take up to3 hours per week for 12 weeks per each group -proposed working hours are 25 per week
  • It is the applicant’s responsibility to arrange groups, organise premises and all items for group work

Time Frame

NTSC Ascend would like work to commence in early September and conclude by 20th December 2025.

Reporting

The successful applicant will report to Coordinator of Ascend Domestic Abuse Service and CEO of NTDC and will be required to track progress and report on same regularly.

The successful applicant will be paid the NTDC agreed tutor rate per hour of work, available on request.

NTDC Ascend hope to create a panel of tutors from this advertisement which they may call on for the duration of panel for 3 years from the closing date of the invitation.
