Introduction

Clondalkin Regional Community Facilities is a recently established company with a voluntary Board of Directors made up of representatives from local service providers, community members and the local authority, chaired by an experienced, retired local politician. Licensed by South Dublin County Council to oversee the management and operations of three community centres (owned by the local authority) in the North Clondalkin area, the Board is interested in exploring a new way of working to provide a range of local services and activities for people in the communities of Balgaddy, Neilstown and Rowlagh.

To that end, the Clondalkin Regional Community Facilities Board (“the Board”) is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from suitably experienced and qualified non-profit organisations to staff and manage three community centres located in Clondalkin, Dublin. This new model of centre management is being piloted for three years initially, to explore how the division of responsibilities between a managing agent and the Board can enhance service delivery, community engagement, and operational effectiveness, while adhering to the Board’s governance and strategic objectives.

It is envisaged that the EOI will be a starting point for further discussions on the cost and feasibility of such a collaborative management arrangement and the division or roles and responsibilities.
