Irish Red Cross: Expression of Interest - Arts Therapists / Community Artists
Arts Therapists / Community Artists
The Irish Red Cross Society is part of the world’s largest independent humanitarian network, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The IRC is committed to and bound by, its Fundamental Principles of Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality. The vision of the IRC is to be a leading humanitarian organisation, providing impartial services and support to vulnerable communities both at home and abroad. Our mission is to identify and deliver humanitarian assistance to those who are most in need.
Domestically, a significant part of our programmes are delivered by our 3,000+ members and associated 70+ branches around the country.
Internationally, we create impact through our partnerships with our fellow Red Cross Red Crescent National Societies as well as with the global humanitarian organisations that we affiliate to: the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The Irish Red Cross offers a range of mental health and wellbeing supports for people who have fled from Ukraine to Ireland and for the professionals and volunteers who support them. Our mental health support services include a range of training and therapeutic interventions, depending on your needs.
Irish Red Cross (IRC) also organises a range of activities with adults and young people from Ukraine who are Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection in Ireland. Community arts projects delivered by experienced arts therapists / community artists form an important part of this, especially to engage with people who may have experienced trauma. The focus of these projects is on strengthening mental health, integration and / or leadership skills.
IRC is now looking to develop a panel of arts therapists and community artists to deliver projects that will be organised between June and December 2025. If you are interested in being considered for these projects, please fill in the following form before 31 May 2025: https://forms.office.com/e/1k62wVsFaj
We will acknowledge receipt of your response and once a suitable project comes up, we will contact you for additional information and to discuss the project specifics, your availability etc.
