Trauma Informed Practice Ireland: Panel Trainers

We seek compassionate, engaging and committed trainers to join a panel to deliver our impactful National training programme for health, social care, criminal justice, community services. Trauma Informed Practice Ireland is an initiative of non-profit consultancy company Quality Matters.

Essential Criteria

  • Five years’ front-line service delivery with highly disadvantaged or excluded communities in social service settings
  • Three years' experience in adult education or group facilitation
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and passion for Trauma Informed Practice
  • Willingness to undertake study in personal time (train the trainer is on paid time; however additional study is required outside paid development time)
  • Willingness to enter a non-compete clause e.g. non-engagement in similar training in our sector while working with us
  • Availability for 2 full days or 4 half days per month to deliver training

Desirable Experience

  • Candidates from marginalised or excluded communities and others with lived experience are encouraged to apply
  • Candidates who can demonstrate an understanding of how NGO and statutory services operate in terms of culture
  • It is desirable that candidates have a master’s degree, however this is not necessary where the candidate has equal and relevant life and professional experience and are good trainer

  • Capacity to empathise with people in a diversity of positions, ranging from those using services to those delivering and managing them

  • A nuanced understanding of oppression, power, and their implications for service provision

Commitment

Candidates will be offered 1 to 4 training sessions per month, which are delivered over 1 full day in person or over 2 half days online. The number of training sessions offered may increase or decrease based on demand at different times.

Remuneration

Candidates will be remunerated through a daily rate for both the train the trainer and training delivery days. Training delivery rates range from €250-€350.

Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place online on Friday, 7th of June. Successful candidates must be available to attend training which will take place over a number of half day workshops between June and July.
Please note that candidates who do not meet all essential criteria will not be considered for this role.
