Reports to: SDCP Lifelong Learning Senior Manager
Location: Based in South Dublin County Partnership Office, Nangor Road, Clondalkin. (with travel across South County Dublin)
Contract: Full-time, Continuous (subject to ongoing funding)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Purpose of the Role
South Dublin County Partnership is looking for a passionate Community Education Project Worker to design and deliver engaging learning programmes for adults and young people in disadvantaged communities. You will support learners to build confidence, develop skills, and move on to further education, training, or employment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Design and Delivery
- Design and deliver community education programmes in collaboration with local communities and stakeholders - this role will involve some evening work.
- Collaborate with DDLETB to co-facilitate accredited BTEI programmes- recruit, support, and retain learners for these courses.
- Facilitate learner-centred programmes that promote personal development, soft skills, wellbeing, and community engagement.
Progression Pathways
- Support learners to progress into further education and training opportunities.
- Identify and promote clear, achievable learning pathways tailored to learner needs and interests.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local community organisations, education providers, and other stakeholders.
- Promote lifelong learning and community education within SDCP's target areas and with SICAP target groups.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Administration
- Maintain accurate records of learner participation, progression, and outcomes.
- Ensure all activities are delivered within agreed budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
- Prepare progress reports as required.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in community development, adult education, or FET sector
- Minimum QQI Level 6 qualification in Adult and Community Education or related field (e.g., Youth Work, Social Studies). with experience in curriculum development and programme facilitation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage marginalised and diverse learner groups.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills
- Full clean driving licence and access to own transport.
Desirable Criteria
- Ability to design and deliver programmes online.
- Knowledge of the SICAP programme and its target groups.
- Experience working with older adults, ethnic minorities, young people not in education or training, long-term unemployed.
- Familiarity with the Further Education and Training systems (e.g., DDLETB, BTEI).
Renumeration Package & Benefits:
- 8-point incremental salary scale applies to role ranging €34,800 (Point1) to €48,600 (Point 8)
- (excluding 2 long service increments).
- Based on experience and qualifications required for this role the successful applicant who demonstrates they meet these criteria will be appointed at Point 4 of the incremental scale.
