We are currently looking for an experienced HR Assistant to join our energetic organisation that is focused on sustainable growth to support an ever-increasing number of women and children who have been impacted by domestic violence.

This is an exciting time to join Saoirse Domestic Violence Services as our organisation has grown significantly in recent years, both our team and our services; we’ve also recently relaunched our strategic plan to accelerate our services for greater scale and impact. You will play an important role at Saoirse DVS supporting our team throughout the full employee lifecycle.

Reporting to: HR Manager

Job Type: Part Time, 3 Days per week

Location: Central Office, Tallaght, Dublin

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Human Resources Assistant will provide confidential and professional support to the HR Manager, management team and employees of SDVS. They will be the point of contact for all general HR queries, provide high quality administrative support and take responsibility for the organisation’s HR function from recruiting top talent, employee onboarding, training and development, to the systems and structures underpinning human resources. You will support a workplace that has an inclusive and collaborative culture, which champions healthy workplaces and has the emotional wellbeing of our team at the centre.

You will be a qualified HR professional, with a sound knowledge of current employment legislation. You will have demonstrable experience of working in a HR role with strong organisation and administration skills, with a passion for providing excellent support to all employees.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the SDVS HR strategy, that supports and underpins the organisation’s ability to meet its objectives and strategic goals successfully.
  • Create and deliver employee engagement and wellbeing programmes and initiatives across the organisation.
  • Provide administrative support for all areas of our talent acquisition process, to ensure SDVS is engaging potential top talent which align with our values and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Support in the development and roll out of a new company induction and facilitate the on-boarding process for all new employees.
  • Support with the design and delivery of training on key HR practices and training needs identified by the management team.
  • Coordinate training for employees, managing the booking of training places, sending invites for employees to attend training, and sending a post training survey to the employee to identify the effectiveness of the course they attended.
  • Ensure operational efficiencies and effectiveness in our HR workflows, documentation, and processes:
    • Utilise HR system to ensure up to date employee data and reporting.
    • Ensure employee records, training records and the company’s performance review documents are maintained and up to date in line with GDPR legislation.
    • Conducting quarterly file audits and following up on any missing employee documentation in a timely manner.
    • Generating HR metrics and producing reports as required to inform better data driven decision making for strategic review.
    • Support the grievance and disciplinary process, as required.
  • Provide general administrative support including scheduling meetings, interviews, preparing documents, completing employee forms and letters, supporting with the creation and review of company policies and procedures etc.
  • Involvement and delivery of HR projects as required.
  • Maintain and up to date knowledge of all relevant HR legislation and best practice, changes to employment law and keep policies and processes and the Employee Handbook updated accordingly.
  • Undertake any other duties to support the HR Manager from time to time.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate for this role is a personable HR Graduate looking progress their career in HR, they should have a strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously.

Essential Criteria

  • 3rd level qualification in Human Resources
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a HR role
  • People-oriented and results driven with an ability to build and manage relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill
  • Flexible attitude, and ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting demands.
  • A high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time and workload effectively.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in the charities sector or in working with a social service organisation.
  • Understanding of the domestic violence landscape and the concept of key working and family support services
  • Knowledge of GDPR Legislation in the HR context
  • Experience of digitisation projects in Human Resources
  • Full, clean, driving licence.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Saoirse Domestic Violence Services (SDVS) provide a range of support services across South-West Dublin and West Wicklow including 24-hour helpline, safe refuge accommodation, safe house accommodation, children’s support services, community outreach support, prevention and educational tools and court accompaniment.
