Pitter Patter Crèche: Manager - Early Years Service

Introduction

Pitter Patter is a small, locally managed community service located in the MACRO community centre. We strive to provide care and education to the highest standards to children in the Markets Area of Dublin 7. The service offers full-time places for 17 children between the ages of 1 and 6. Pitter Patter is committed to the support of families in the area returning to work and education. The Pitter Patter early-years’ service is dedicated to the values of community development.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • ELC Qualification FETAC level 7/8 on the National Qualification’s Framework
  • Minimum 3 years experience in early years settings, ideally community settings
  • One years’ experience in a managerial/supervisory role within early childhood
  • Sound understanding of Aistear, Síolta, and current Early Years legislation and practices
  • Understanding and experience of using the Early Years Hive
  • Strong initiative, flexibility, and a supportive, team-based approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of an early years service, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for children, parents and staff
  • Leading and supporting a team of 5 childcare professionals providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Develop and implement appropriate educational programmes and ensure compliance with all government regulations, standards, and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Manage government funding programmes and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, communicating regularly about their child’s progress and any concerns.
  • Take responsibility for administrative duties, including scheduling, budgeting, staffing and marketing of premises.
  • Promote a child-centred approach, respecting individual needs, and fostering an inclusive, engaging environment.
  • Ensure that all safeguarding and health and safety policies are adhered to.
  • Keeping records updated

What we Offer:

  • Salary scale €37,440 to €45,760 in line with qualifications and experience.
