Counsellor / Adolescent Counsellor – Part-Time Contract / Flexible Hours

The Organisation

The Traveller Counselling Service, established in 2008, provides one-to-one counselling and trauma-informed therapeutic support to members of the Traveller community. Overseen by a Board of Management, this service is run by Travellers for Travellers and operates within a culturally inclusive framework that respects Traveller culture, identity, values, and norms.

The Roles

We are currently recruiting for two exciting roles within our team:

  • Counsellor
  • Adolescent Counsellor

Both roles are offered as part-time contract positions with flexible working hours and the potential for permanent work. These roles offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the Traveller community by delivering culturally sensitive, trauma-informed support in a supportive and inclusive environment. The rate of pay is €60 per hour.

The Adolescent Counsellor will play a pivotal role in a 12-month funded programme providing counselling to young Travellers aged 11–25, while the Counsellor will work with adult clients.

Adolescent Services will be delivered in-person in Dublin. Flexibility in approach and location is essential.

Adult Services will be delivered in-person, online and by phone, and in a range of locations suitable to the therapist and client.
