Empowerment Plus is a Nationwide non-profit organisation with registered charitable status that works with young people and families who are at risk within their home or community. As an organisation, Empowerment Plus is committed to supporting young people and families by providing wraparound, needs based support.

Empowerment Plus are looking to recruit a panel of Social Care Workers for emergency 24/7 support in Foynes, Co. Limerick for children/young people in the care of TUSLA who are temporarily without placement. The rota will consist of 12 and/or 24-hour shifts including a mix of waking & sleeping nights.

Empowerment plus welcome applications from suitable candidates who can demonstrate:

• The capacity to provide child centred care and support to the young people who we work with.
• An understanding of the complexities and sensitivities of the lived experience of children in care.
• An ability to work as part of a team – contributing to activity planning for the young people that come into our care.
• An excellent standard of report writing and record keeping.
• As required under Children’s First staff will be expected to report any disclosures or concerns through correct channels.
• Flexibility in their approach to work.
• An ability to adhere to organisational guidelines and policies.

Essential Requirements:

• Full clean driving licence with use of own car. Successful candidates will be responsible for covering the cost of indemnification of Empowerment plus on their insurance policy.
• Minimum Level 7 qualification in social care or equivalent
• Previous experience of working with young people and families at risk is beneficial but not essential. New graduates will be facilitated and supported in building up their experience over time and at an appropriate level.
