Relief Educator

The Daughters of Charity Community Services (DoCCS), located at 9 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1, provides a range of educational, training and social care services for adults, youth and children in the North Inner City.

The organisation is currently recruiting a Relief Educator to join the organisation.

The Relief Educator will work in the Early Years Team to provide education, guidance, support and care to the children.

The details of the role are as follow;

Relief Educator – Immediate start and ongoing to cover absences in the Early Years’ Team. Relief staff can refuse work if unavailable which will not affect their position on the relief panel

Duties include:

  • Ensure a safe and fun environment for the children to grow and learn.
  • Maintain an organised, clean environment for the children.
  • To build positive relationships with parents/guardians on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop a co-ordinated approach to support the children's individual needs.
  • Actively participate and engage within a team in order to reach goals and enhance the quality provision of the service.
  • Report all concerns regarding the child protection and welfare of any child, to the Designated Person in a timely manner in keeping with the Daughters of Charity Protection Policies and Children 's First (2015)

Essential

  • Minimum QQI Level 5 in a childcare qualification or equivalent (check DCYA.gov)
  • A passion for working with young children and their families.
  • Knowledge in Síolta & Aistear.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple work tasks and a busy environment.

Salary: €13.87 per hour
