Rainbows Ireland is seeking to recruit for a new position.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Rainbows Framework Coordinator to roll out a new and extended framework of support for children and young people experiencing the impact of bereavement, family change resulting from parental separation, divorce.

The new framework builds on the traditional early intervention group support and will initially focus on supporting children and young people with Intellectual Disabilities in special schools.

A key aspect of the role will be the development of a comprehensive strategy to embed a more inclusive Rainbows service model of support.

The Coordinator will play a crucial role and responsibility in

  • Establishing significant interaction with schools, school staffs, parents, health care professionals and other key stakeholders to embed at an early intervention level, a model of support in relation to bereavement, or family change as a result of parental separation or divorce.
  • Empowering and enhancing the capacity of professionals working in the sector through a comprehensive schedule of training, building competence and confidence to support children/young people experiencing grief, loss, and significant change.
  • Establishing and communicating clear and defined boundaries in relation to the level of support available through the framework to all stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate procedures of mentoring, supervision, and support.
  • Building rigorous processes of evaluation, feedback, reflective practice together with generating statistical evidence to demonstrate impact, effectiveness.
  • Maintaining file management and data collection systems as appropriate to the needs of the service and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • Providing written reports and other documentation as required for external and internal purposes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A minimum Level 8 Qualification from the NFQ in but not limited to, Disability Studies, Education (including Special Educational Needs, Special Education Needs Coordination, Inclusive and Special Education, Educational Leadership, Remedial Education), Health / Healthcare / Healthcare Management; Nursing (including Intellectual Disability Nursing, Mental Health Nursing); Occupational Therapy, Psychology
  • At least five years’ post qualification experience in the area of education and/or care of children with special educational needs, or the delivery of other services to people with disabilities.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrate maturity, empathy, compassion together with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, operational, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Have a proven track record of special education needs, issues, and services.
  • Be able to work on own initiative, including the ability to manage time effectively and to manage and prioritise workloads.
  • Have the capacity to develop a strong network of relevant stakeholders.
  • Have an understanding and commitment to the administrative aspects of the role including record keeping and statistical management.
  • Have an open and flexible approach to work schedules – weekend /evening work will be required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team – reporting to Rainbows CEO
  • Participate in management meetings and work with the CEO to strategically develop this service provision.
  • Represent the organisation at external fora when required.
  • Complete written articles/reports in relation to the Framework

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience of Rainbows support service.
  • Knowledge and experience of the charity and community/voluntary sector.
  • Track record in training.

Conditions:

  • This is a one-year fixed term renewable contract (funding dependant)
  • Based in Loreto Centre, Crumlin, Dublin 12 with agreed hybrid working schedules.
  • The role will involve travelling within Ireland at times.
  • This position is new and evolving so this job description does not include new or emerging developments or tasks.
  • 6 months’ probation.
  • Candidates must have capacity/permission to reside and work in the EU.
  • Salary range is €40,000 to €60,000 based on 38-hour week, depending on experience.
  • 27 days annual leave.
