ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services Limerick are recruiting for the following position:

Refuge Day Worker (Part-time – 25 hours per week)

ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services is a voluntary organization which was established in 1974. The Mission of ADAPT is to offer support and safety to women and their children affected by domestic abuse. The service is committed to challenging domestic abuse by strengthening the capacity of individuals, communities and organisations to respond effectively and to change society so that domestic abuse is no longer tolerated.

We are looking to employ a highly motivated and committed individual who is interested in working for an organisation that makes a difference to people’s lives. The successful candidate will be part of the Refuge Team who provide 24-hour refuge and helpline support to women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse/coercive control. The role is a day-time role and entails supporting families in refuge with practical and emotional support. The role also involves assisting in the upkeep of the accommodation and ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed. The role also includes working closely with Women’s Services refuge team to support the key-working role and helping to organise and support activities for women.

Rate of Pay: €19.63 per hour

Type of Contract: Initial two-year contract which may be extended after that period.

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 12pm-5pm (hours of work are non-negotiable)
